The Biggest Dome in Malaysia

The Biggest Dome in Malaysia

I visited the mosque which claims to have the biggest dome in Malaysia. I was welcomed and saddened by the construction materials wrapped around its dome surface. It’s like looking forward to see that beautiful face only to find out it’s covered with surgical cloth. The tourist guide told me that a certain chemical was mistakenly applied to the surface and now they’re trying to save its preserved beauty.  As I altered my thoughts, I realized that those surrounding materials could help me illustrate how gigantic it is.

Those tiny red spots you see are the men at work. Their voices echoes at they travel with the wind but not audible enough for me to hear their exact words. With how tiny they are, you’ll get an idea when I say “the biggest dome”.   🙂

  3. This reminded me of the geodesic domes of R. Buckminster Fuller. So fragile looking in structure and yet so strong and flexible against nature’s worse like earthquakes or storms. Great photo!!

    1. Didn’t know about him until now, and yes saw his works. He’s a smart guy with many inventions focusing on architectural design. Wow, thank you for sharing that! Glad you like the photo. Thanks! 🙂

  4. Love the way you describe the construction being performed on the dome. Looking forward to seeing an update on this adventure(:
